I think a nice feature for Civilization IV would be a civilization generator. For example, when you start a game the computer creates a random civilization name, random city names, random leader names, ect. for the AI's. It'd be nice for people that don't want to play vs real life civilizations and wouldn't effect people who do. I can't imagine this being hard to do for the developers either. Granted, you can probably do this stuff by moding the game, it would be a nice feature to have built in.

they have that. it is known as random.

surely random just choose a random civ for you rather than creating a new civ with random properties.

it still does the same thing, you play against a combination of strengths and UU's

I can just imagine, some pitiful civ gets stuck with a rifleman with an extra attack point. fortified in the city of skdfgjsdfkjg which belongs to the civ of tnoidfnhlhsopdf, whose leader is ymnlvnlsgnkldsfg.

Then, you would also have the civ whose name is imgonnakilludead, led by thereallybigguy, capital is insertreallycoolnamehere, and gets a swordsman with an extra attack point, and an extra movement point.

I probably didn't explain myself good enough. The idea isn't to make a new civilization with different attributes such as unique units. The idea is to take an existing civilization and change its civ name, city names, and the leaders name. In order to do this, they would give each civilization an alternate name, alternate leader name and alternate city names. The names would not be generated randomly like I said earlier, it would be predescribed by the developers. For example, the Americans would become the Zods led by John (horrible choice for names, but you get the idea). They would still be the same as the Americans, just with a new name. So, you wouldn't end up with civ names like "imgonnakilludead" and you wouldn't get some pitiful civilization getting stuck with a rifleman with an extra attack point. And again, this idea wouldn't hurt anyone as it would be optional. I hope I made myself more clear.
