Civilizations

It's a longer lifetime than the Songhai, the Zulu, the Huns or the Aztecs, and not much less than imperial Venice. All of which is beside the point - a civ's importance is defined by its influence rather than its age. America and Brazil have nothing in common beyond age and a colonial origin, and certainly nothing in common in terms of their impacts on global civilization. The Huns, too, were extremely important in their time despite that time being very short.
port).

don't get me wrong, i'm not anti american civ at all. But i see that the reply is trying to defend america with the reason that IS why some people try to ban america from the game. To be frank, i am more an anti huns or celts.

you're building the civilization. that's what the game is about

Basically this. The game is a representation of popular history. Almost sci-fi. "What if Brazil existed in 4000 BC and became the world's premier superpower?" "What if the reign of the Egyptian pharaohs continued until today?" It's not really worth worrying too much about what is or is not a "civilization." The point is, in this scenario, it is one.

Plus, America in 1 AD isn't any more silly than "England" or "Spain" in 4000 BC.

agreed wholeheartedly. The game must have civs from all ages, and america serves well as one from modern age.
What bothers me is some of the civs like the huns is listed only because they were once an annoyance to some true superpower as the roman, nothing else. We don't need a classical badass, there is plenty other well performed classical kingdom that haven't been represented.
