I have 51 GB of storage space, but only 2.2 GB's free. I'd like to make it 5 GB's or more. How can I do that? (I've emptied recycle bi, cleared temporary files, etc.

Assuming you're already run Disk Cleanup, you'll need to delete files. Or get a 2nd hard drive. If you know what you're doing, go into control panel/add or remove programs, and get rid of anything you don't use anymore. Old games can take up a fair amount of space.

XP lite
Cleans up a lot of RUBBISH on Windows XP

Get a DVD burner.

Is XP Lite a free program? I just might get a DVD burner, though.

My computer recently had to reintall windows at the computer store. I got it serviced, and my music and word documents were savbed. I had a bunch of games previously installed, but they dont show up in the program files or anything. Could they be hidden and taking up room?

Try going to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs to see what is installed. If there is nothing there then you will have to go to My Computer and delete things manually, then reinstall.

Alright thanks

I absolute DESPISE repaired XP installs. In 99% of the cases I've seen(and i've seen MANY), there are continued problems after the repair. I would recommend backing up everything you want to keep and doing a complete wipe and re-install. On the other hand, hard drives are very cheap right now, you might consider a 100GB drive for less than the cost of a dvd burner..

you think you've got problems? my HD is 114gig and I've just found out I have 50gig missing  I mean REALLY missing. my computer says the partition is 114gig but whenI select all files in my C drive ot comes to something in the reigon of 60odd gig. It can't be a partition thing because the computer knows the space is there, it just won't let me use it. I thought it might have been some wierd ass defragmentation problem but that didn't help either. I'd reinstall windows to see if that'd help but franklyt I can't be bothered with the hassle.

@steviejay, have you adjusted your virtual memory settings? You may have accidentally set it to 50GB. (Unlikely but possible).

hmmmm, never thought of that. tried it but unfortunately it's set as 767meg. I decided to check my recycle bin just incase I'd set that to some major size but alas it was fine
