I was checking an info screen (think it was governor screen) while waiting for the AI to finish their turns. When I clicked it away I was looking at Peter thanking me for a trade deal... Turns out I had traded away great works without even seeing it. It didn't matter in the game but you shouldn't be able to activity any abilities on screens you aren't looking at.
