Has anyone had a situation where, when fighting the REF, when your units are defeated they're deleted rather than demoted?

This can happen with anyone in the game. It seems to be a general glitch. Unless you are talking about damaged artillery and Regulars, those are obviously always deleted.

Ok, so this is just something that happens sometimes? In my latest game, I was fighting the REF and suddenly found there were no troops left on the square I was attacking from. I loaded from save and found the same thing was happening, consistently. Maybe it's a corruption in this particular save.

It's especially bad if it happens to you in the middle of the game, when your dragoons just disappear after losing a battle.

And you're now facing the REF with one hand tied behind your back! But luckily it's not my favorite part of the game.
