Anyone else having color issues with their starting cities. Half the time mine are dark blue/gray. I thought I had it figured out to certain civs, but apparently it's random. And sometimes I can choose a map I want, and other times I can't. Totally buggy. And the non-ability to choose a map and the color thing are intertwined.

NOTE: I have the Apple Store version.

I can't believe it's my video card as the other colors are okay, and when I expand, the expanded tiles are normal colors. It's the starting city. And this is happening half the time I start a game.

First screenshot is of my system specs (showing ram and video card).

Second and third are examples of the color issue. As you can see at the top of the screen, the yields and stuff are regular colors. The starting city and immediate rings are dark blue/gray.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you talking about the fungal biome? There are three possible tilesets: lush, fungal, and desert. The lush is a pretty standard green/brown, Earth-like tileset. The desert one is brownish hues. The fungal one is a weird blue/grey alien landscape. The tilesets also have minor effects on the types of resource and alien distributions you get. Both of your pictures are of the fungal biome (tileset). Everything looks like it's supposed to there, as far as I can tell.

^^Thanks for your reply. I'm new with Beyond Earth, and the majority of my games didn't look like that (i.e., the blue/grey).

I wasn't sure because I mouse over the tiles and they say things like farmland, fruit, etc. I didn't know about this biome stuff :(

I appreciate your help. Thank you.

Oh, and when you start a new game, under "Advanced Setup" you can choose which type of "Map Terrain" you want.

I know I am having a lot of trouble differentiating between the colors of two of the players. Don't know the names, but one is bluish and the other is greenish-blue.

8 sponsors, and 3 are a blue variant. KP and ARC are the worst, I have to mouse over each unit to find out whose it is.

Okay. That was it. I didn't know about the bio fungal thing. As you know, Beyond Earth is not well-documented. And with all the video/graphic problems I've read about, I assumed it was that.

Thank you.
