Combat Unit Rebalancing (CUR) - need help

It won't work for you? I'm really confused. I copied your text into an unrelated mod I've been running, removed the extra <Text> commmands, and loaded up my saved game. Your text was being substituted just fine for the standard lancer text.

Er, the Xml/SQL holy war aside, it does not matter where within the XML you stick a table. As long as the table belongs under <GameData> it belongs under <GameData> and the game does not look for nor care whether units stuff is in the same file as buildings stuff or civilizations stuff.

Since the text commands are working for me and not for you, I have to believe the civilopedia is having trouble dealing with your actual gameplay effects. I've run before into these non-intuitive restrictions on how the civilopedia works wrt existing elements of the game. My surmise is that you'll have to update the tags the units use to conform to the era-placement system, but I could very well be wrong. Before you burn up a lot of time chasing a rabbit down a hole, I'd wait to see if some of the members more knowledgeable than I re the language table and the shuffling of unit eras agree or disagree with my assessment.
