i was surprised when i found this site. it started when i was looking online for civ1. IVE LOOKED EVERYWHERE:mad: ive gone to online store, future shop, radio shack, and a whole bunch of others, looking for this game i have such great memories of. but its not anywhere. i have it since 92 at least, but then last year my drive got wiped and i lost it and the disks it was on.:( so if anyone could tell me where to get it, leagally or not i dont care, it would be much apreciated...

another thing, pretaining to the topic of my post... when i found this site i was surprised that there is still lots of professionally done info about it online. i thought i would just get old, run-down, out dated sites. but here i am, at this great site. but here in the forum, i expected a lot more from people who love this old game. there really isnt that much about civ1, and only 1 topic forum:cry: i think the original and the best deserves a bit more.....

The original was the best, at least I got the most joy out of it. But as they say the days are gone... civ III is the child everyone is talking about...

I started playing with Civ1. I have since then mastered Civ2 and Civ3(as much as one can master in a few months). I must say, the graphics and gameplay on civ3 just astound me after I switch from playing CivI or II. I must say that civIII is probably the best, just because firaxis decided to listen to the demands of the player when building it. Microprose did the same for civII. So, in a way, CivI is the reason for the later greatness. And, no matter how much fun i have with the new games, it will never surpass the late nights I spent with civI;) I love all the civs. They are all great. Civ I should never be forgotten!!!!!

P.S. Can you believe a CivIV is already being anticipated? It appears Firaxis and friends may want to milk the money udder in a few more years. :)
