Which govt produces the best results is very debatable.
However what is more relevant is whether or not you can afford the changeover even with a religious civ.

If you plan to go to Communism early planning is essential.
Below is some info on one of my games switching to communism. I had planned my empire for a monarchy,
but it is interesting to see the cost of switching

Monarchy 750gpt 50% corruption
Communism 133gpt 81.5% corruption

Also loss of 335 gold in changeover due to 1 turn of anarchy.
Please note the corruption% I used here was simply corruption/Total income, which is not 100% correct but it will do as the difference is huge.

I know which govt i will continue with in this particular game

Comunism is the best government, but you must be ready for it.

- You should concentrate on city growth. Granary and Longevity Wonder are important, and turn terrain to grassland and make it irrigated and railroaded is very advisable.

- You should also concentrate on hapiness. Since you do not rush with money, you can use 10 or 20% to Luxuries. Also, you can turn some of your biggest cities citizens into Elvis and Britneys. And you must build Sistine Chappel and JS Bach's Cathedral.

This will allow you to boost your production and your draft capabilities (you are in communism...)

Never use Republic and Democracy, and abandon Monarchy ASAP, i. e., when you can pass a few turns in Anarchy and you have good city growth and good entertainment capabilities that distract people while they are getting killed...

A wormonger eh?
:tank: :rocket: :tank:

The other govts aren't worth just scrapping. IMO Democracy is the best peacetime government.

Peace Time?
When I use many peace times, I never win the game by conquest (obviously I turn off the domination victory...).

My favourite strategy is to establish good diplomatic relationships and make alliances to destroy the nearest neighbour, then stabilize my new territory, and then start another war campaign against a new neighbour. The stabilization period is never long enough to justify the 2 anarchy periods.
Maybe when I play with the Indians ... But even then I will have to ajust the Elvis and Britneys to workers, and the luxuries rate and so on...

So, why to change when I am happy? :D
