la fayette by posting me i your reply i assume you are trying to goad me. i thought we were done . as a old hippie i am still mad at myself for letting you get under my skin by saying you could beat me then refusing to play. i should not have said what i said im sure there are some brave french. beating the commputer is a forgone conclusion but beating a human is hard. this is why i play humans i want a chance to lose that way i feel a sense of accomplishment when i win. if you ever want to take a chance and play a human would still like to play you you can set board to whatever size and level you are most comfortable playing

hey mangor420. I think there is no doubt of what you say about computer and human opponents. And of course there is no doubt of you being one of the greatest civplayers...(for purposes of peace), but please, if you want someone not so cool as you are, understand the full meaning of your posts, why not use a common writing style as it has developed for more than a thousand years now, nearly all over the world?

Here is the GOTM forum, and you chose to play GOTM 34 and tell us what you achieved. I am perfectly entitled to say that I achieved conquest (much) sooner than you did, because it is the truth.

la fayette i think we need a review of our brief but stormy relationship. this begain when you bad a statment about being a rebublic that i took isssue with i stated i thought you were wrong that is not a insult. i then laid out my reasoning on the issue. what you did next was not point out a flaw in my theory or offer your own vison but instead impy i had a lot to learn a small insult. i then suggested we settle the issue on they feild of honor a game. you stated you only play for fun and i would be no fun a bigger insult. when i suggested talk was cheap you then said i would not be any trouble to beat . a third insult at that point i said something back that i have said sorry for three times. maybe should do same. i thought this site was about debating theories and playing people who also love civ 2

mangor, it is nothing personal against you, but we have had many players come through here who thought they were the best Civ II player ever, so far, you are no different. We shall see what your GOTM results are like and then people can better judge your abilities. But, if you continue with this semi-abusive attitude towards other posters, you will have a very short stay here.
Edit: Also, please learn how to edit your posts. Making succesive posts as you are doing is considered spam and is very much frowned upon.

I'm sure it was a dig at you. But, there is a huge difference between a little 'heathly' competition and 'abusive' competition.
You are welcome to stay on and show your skills as a Civ II player, but you also cannot realistically expect people to just blindly accept you as the 'best' Civ II player ever. You have to prove your skills to them via the GOTM or the HOF or scenario scores if you can't get anyone to play you via MP. Our MP section is virtually non-existant as it is, so I'm not surprised you are having trouble finding an opponent.
Given that, you cannot simply force people to agree with you by attacking them. Sure, point out times when you may have bested them in equal competition, but blind faith is not something you are likely to get. It takes time to prove your worth. Once you score well in a couple GOTM games people will start to agree with you. It all takes time, it cannot be an 'instant' acceptance, no matter how hard you push for it.
