Heya, I was wondering if anyone can offer me some tips on wiring - mainly grounding.
I own a 3 piece Cambridge Soundworks speaker set - two satellites and a subwoofer. My problem is that even at the lowest volume my satellites will let off a buzzing noise - very faint, but noticable.
What I have attempted to do is re-ground the speakers. I attached wires from each of the ground wires on the satellites and taken them through the amp so that they can go to another grounding source, such as a large piece of metal. But that didn't really stop the noise - nor is it a proper ground. When I put my finger to the wire (the ground wire) the buzzing will completely stop - So I know it's possible to stop the noise.
I have tried these things:
Plugging my speakers into a completely different outlet - didn't work.
Checking to see if it's emenating through my sound card - that is a negative - headphones don't give off that noise.
Attempted to re-ground it, however failed. - I think this is my real problem and would greatly appreciate any solutions you can offer for this.
I have browsed the web on this and found a few articles, most of which are no help or make little to no sense. I am somewhat familiar with wiring, so if someone can tell me what to do properly, I think I can get them to stop that abhorrent buzzing noise.
Thanks in advance for any advice
