I had to follow the procedure on the official site to avoid render problem.
I hope that people who upgrade find this advice usefull.
Have been playing for several hours now and I no problems with CTD or system halts.
I must says that memory leaks are definitely a problem. After a few hours more than 800 mb of memory that is used by civ.
