Console window in Multiplayer

Is the console window disabled in Multiplayer as I cannot seem to open it.

Yes, it is disabled.

Are there any cheats available in multiplayer? A few friends of mine are playing, one with his little brother, and we thought we could cheat to help level the playing field for him, without him knowing we were helping him out...

No there are no cheats available, but you could set his difficultly level to a lower one than yours, maybe he wouldn't notice....
