I have a (to me) real nice title screen for C3C, problem is I can't get it converted to a (proper) .pcx file.

I tried using hypersnaps save as, but apparently it didn't save properly because when I run the game the "wallpaper" doesn't show.

I've attached the file here.

TIA for any help

Timelord... The Image you uploaded here is a .pcx file. You need to make the Image Much Larger for a Title Screen. 1024 pixels X 768 Pixels at 300 Resolution.

I will also add that the Palette seems ok. So it isn't that you are having problems converting to a .pcx file...you simply did not make it the correct size for a Title Screen :) Title Screens are Wider than they are Tall. Your Image is 320 x 320 (too Small) and is why it would not work for you.

Just to make sure, I set that image to the Correct size and Resolution and used your same Palette. Works fine :)

I do recommend that you start with a Larger Image and downsize it rather than enlarging it because the Image will become pixelated and not look as good.

Drat. I don't remember where I found that pic, but was hoping...and yer right on the other, sizing up really looks cruddy , so I'll just have to find something else.

Thanks for the info.

Another alternative to the sizing up problem is to try a 3 step process:

1) Make sure you've changed the colors back to millions.
2) Resize it to far larger than you want - say 10240 x 7680.
3) Then reduce it to 1024 x 768.

Between (2) & (3) you may need to experiment by doing some smoothing, adjusting contrast/brightness, etc. for best results.

The pixel count (1024x768) is not affected by resolution. ;)
