COTM 87 First Spoiler - Aztecs, the Ancient Age!

First - you are nearly bound to move before founding your capital; where did you end up at and why? 2nd - you're definitely not alone; how did your early expansion go and are any of your nearby neighbors giving you any troubles? 3rd - there are farther off civs; did you make contact, and overall, how has your technology development gone? Are you in good shape entering the Middle Ages or do you have more work to do?

Going for a fast military victory if I have time.

I settled 1SW. There seemed to be some disadvantage with all the available choices. But in hindsight and since curraghs were rather unimportant, I think 2SW would have been better - less corruption in the "valley" towns. In the beginning I was considering 20K which may have affected my choice to stay on the coast.

Through some trusty research methods (Literature sling shot and then Currency) I managed to leave the ancient age behind me in 1125 BC with 691 gold in the coffin. I'm now waiting for the AI to reseach governments. For me it's Monoteism 27 turns. Then on to chivalry.

I've gotten some horseman production going, hopefully enough to withstand a barb rising. Soon I will be able to engage in mock wars and skirmishes without risking starting a despotic golden age.

I have only 7 towns but just established a 4 turn settler factory in Tenochtitlan. I doubt that Tenochtitlan will continue as capital till the end of the game.

This will be a military victory or no victory at all.
