Hello,
I've noticed a large amount of graphics problems/solutions but after combing through the topics for some time I cannot find a fix for my particular issue. The problem only started occurring once I installed BtS - Warlords (and Civ4 before that) worked just fine with no crashes for any reason.
I've tried removing and reinstalling the game, patches, and the posted version of DirectX any number of times now, seeing if perhaps conflicts with old files or installation in a certain order makes a difference; however, all has been for naught. I've triple checked that all my drivers are latest/greatest. I'm not having crashes or graphics issues in any other game I play even though they have much higher hardware requirements (like Medieval 2: Total War).
What occurs is while playing BtS, can be a regular game, a scenario, or any of the mods I have for it, the game will freeze. 90% of the time this seems to occur during the computer's turn (I've just hit the End Turn button) but that could be coincidental I suppose. It stays frozen for 45sec - 1min then exits to the desktop with "nv4_disp display driver has stopped working". I'll post a screenshot of this.
Once I have that error message there's nothing for me to do but reboot. Graphics stay in VGA mode (low res, low colour). The BtS application actually doesn't exit, it stays resident and I can select it from the taskbar but it doesn't recover and the whole machine locks up if I do that.
Please anyone, if you can help, I would appreciate it. I'm out of ideas completely!
