While I wasnt having any problems with the computer rebooting itself or anything the game did eventually start crashing to the desktop at the end of almost every turn, making it pretty much un-playable. To fix this problem untill theres a patch, I set my AGP speed down to the "off" setting. No more problems, hasnt crashed once after a good 6 hour session :) Youll want to switch it back up when playing other games or running other graphical apps.

If your not using an ATI card, as I am, you may have a different method of making this change.

To change the AGP setting (for ATI cards):

Right click on Desktop and select properties

Select settings TAB and then click the Advanced button

Select the SMARTGART tab and then adjust the slider to the "Off" setting.

Hope this solves at least someones problem out there. Best game of the year in my mind :)

Good luck

I have an ATI card (X300), but do not have this option, unfortunately...

But glad to hear it works (?!) for you!

DUDE! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR THIS TIP! MY GAME WORKS NOW BECAUSE OF THIS!!! :goodjob: I complained all over the place about how my Radeon 9800 Pro didn't work with the game...Tried EVERYTHING... all the fixes except for this one. And this one actually worked... More than the Catalyst or the remove the art file, or the old drivers 4.18 or whatever... I tried EVERYTHING... and this finally worked. I played the Revolutionary War for the last hour with no crashes... Of course...I got my a$$ handed to me, but...I had fun and the game didn't crash... SPREAD THE WORD!! Nice work!! Now I'm not flipping out like I was before---->

Thanks
