Well, it seems that City states will be coming back with a vengeance! And albeit we don't know yet how many types will be present this time (we only know about trading, religious and scientific city states so far), we do know that if you manage to ally to them, your civilization will be getting a powerful unique bonus, such as getting 2 unique luxury resources (Zanzibar's UA) or getting a second holy city that exerts religious preassure (Jerrusalem city).

So with this information in mind, which City States you woud like to see and which abilities would you grant them? Well, these would be my personal options:

Tyre
Type: Trading city state
Unique ability: It grants you 3 dye resources. All your dye resources have the added effect "+2 gold to artist specialists", meaning that other civilizations will also value them more in order to trade with them

Singapore
Type: Trading city state
Unique ability: +3 production to all your sea-located districts (city centers included) & wonders

Buenos Aires
Type: Commercial city state
Unique ability: +4 food to your capital and +2 food to all your cow resource tiles

Venice
Type: Cultural city state
Unique ability: Each foreign trade routes gives you +3 amenities. You can build naval trade and military units in Venice under your direct control

Dubrovnik
Type: Cultural city state
Unique ability: +3 culture in your capital per different luxury resource under your control

Vaishali
Type: Cultural city state
Unique ability: Add one additional wildcard policy and a diplomatic policy slot to your goverment

Lhasa
Type: Religious city state
Unique ability: Your civilization can purchase the exclusive "Lama" unique great prophet

Vatican city
Type: Religious city state
+1 free envoy to CS with your religion present in them. You can purchase units with faith on any city state with your religion present on them

Tiwanaku
Type: Religious city state
Unique ability: +15% wonder production in cities with your religion, +30% in your holy cities

Rhodes
Type: Scientific city state
Unique ability: Unlocks additional great scientists for purchase

Tartessos
Type: Scientific city state
Unique ability: Goody huts, friendly villages and archeological findings provides you small eureka boosts when discovered

Tallinn
Type: Scientific city state
Unique ability: X3 to the science yielded by foreign trade routes

So, what do you guys think? Which other ideas for City States do you have?

City States in Civ6 are a bit more involved that that.
See my thread on this.

They give you 3 tiers of benefits at 1,3,6 envoys
Then on top of that you get a Suzerain bonus for allying with them.
The 'friends with benefits' bonuses appears to accrue to your districts or your capital city.

Yeah that's what this dude's saying. The "ally bonus" he's talking about is the suzerain bonus. He didn't include the tiered benefits because there's no real speculation there. We already know what the tiers are for 3 of the CS types and it'd get pretty redundant pretty quickly if he added those tiers to each of his bullet points.

As for the topic at hand, idk uh
Florence: cultural: Great Works of Art generate +3 gold per turn. Generates X great Artist points per turn.

Monaco: commercial: Every time a great person is born in your empire, gain 100 gold for every commercial district in your empire.

Macau: commercial: half of your GPT is converted to tourism AND culture

Krak des Chevaliers

Seuthopolis (capital of ancient Thracia)

Zimbabwe (ancient city)

Though not sure how they would/could work

I realize that.
But some of his suzerain bonuses sound a bit closer to the friend bonuses, especially with the +X modifiers to districts.

Lydia: Commercial: Building a wonder grants +200 gold (scales with era).

Scythia: Militaristic: Grants control/use of their Scythian Horse Archers (can move after attacking (kinda stealing this from Parthia a little)). Mounted units gain experience 50% faster.
