I italicized what I felt was important, but this disclaimer comes at the end of each show.
I watched it tonight, and finally I feel some relief after reading this little tid-bit. I could not tell how he was doing it.
Well, now, my theory is presented as such. I had a feeling one of the ladies I saw him read was not sitting next to her sister, but actually her psychic, whether this is true or not is irrelevant, it sparked my theory, I will float it by you all, tell me what you think.
John Edwards team actually find these people's psychics, (and believe me, 99% of them who come into the audience have one), beofer the show he is told a physical description of the lady he will be doing the reading on. Then he is given specific facts by his/her psychic, who picks up a handy sum of money for the deal.
When he connects with his pre-described vulnerable person with specific facts, nobody (but his/her psychic, close friends, pastor, family members) could have known, they are amazed. He plays it off like your average magician, playing it off as psychic powers, when realistically it is just a stacked deck of cards. The second part of this charade is the healing part, where he does the standard psychic job, helping a person cope with loss with words of reassurance. Like a psychologist, but instead of gathering facts from psychoanalysis, he uses facts provided him from their psychic.
Now, this does all hinge on the good reputation of psychics....
Anyways, I feel better now knowing that the show is entertainment value, and even has a small disclaimer at the end to say it is such, probably to avoid lawsuits.
