The following definitions were apparently on paper napkins in a restaurant discovered by the author of word play, Willard Espy, some twenty years ago:
Moderate: A guy who makes enemies left and right.
Sad case: A dozen empties.
Psychologist: One who when a beautiful girl enters the room watches everyone else.
Texas: Miles of miles of nothing else but miles and miles.
Will: A dead giveaway.
Organ recital: Women discussing their operations.
Knapsack: Sleeping bag.
Cannibal: A guy who goes into a restaurant and orders the waiter.
Stagnation: A country without women.
Operetta: A woman who works for the telephone company.
Smelling salts: Sailors with BO.
Incongruous: Where they make our laws.
Yale: A Swedish prison.
And I'm sure there are lots that could be added.
