data error cycle redundancy check

I managed to get my isntall working but now i keep getting a message saying that i have a "data error cycle redundancy check" does anyone one know what this means or how i can repair it?

Hmmm...I might be wrong but I think a "cyclic redundancy check" is a hardware thing. Are you only getting problems Civ (no other software playing up)? How is your PC's performance in general?

all my other installed games work with thier Cd's....

Although I havent installed a game in a long time....

Do you know what section of hardware could be casueing this problem?

woah... I just checked my CD... It has a huge burn mark that circles it, I guess I didnt expect a store bought cd to be damaged...

damn.... so much for civ on christmas day

this samething happened to me, my computer runs fine and have more than the min req.
I installed cod2 yesterday and had no problems what so ever.

also both discs look fine, no marks or anything. any help would be greatly appreciated.
