Hello Sid
I have been a loyal Civ fan for years. For the past 3 years I have enjoyed and shared Civ with others because I believed that it represented the best of what games could offer. By this I mean fun game play, addictive game play, infinite replayability, historical accuracy and of course, the name of Sid Meier attached to it. I am not blaming you directly, for I am aware that you are not the direct director of the Civilization 4 project, but you do put your name on the game so it is implied that you are responsible for its content. When I first got my hands on Civilization 4, I promise that I felt proud to be supporting such an impressive line of games. Now I find myself torn about how to feel about this game. It is fun, yes, but it is not in any way stable, bug free, or even well constructed. This is not a personal attack but rather a critical appraise of your work which I greatly respect. Some say that those with older computers that barely meat the bare requirements are the only ones that have major problems. Well I have worked hard for a 3.2Ghz P4, 1GB, Geforce 6600gt system. Not only is my system more than able to play this game, it is above it. So I ask you for an apology. Not for wrong doing on your part, which it may or may not have happened. But rather for the disrespect that those who decided on the obviously early release date of this game have shown toward loyal fans. I have searched for many hours to fixes to my hard crashes, my random reboots, to massive rendering errors; hell if it wasn't for my patience and love for the series Civ 4 would be on Ebay. So I ask, as a loyal and appreciative Civ fan, fix this now. I am sure you have the power to direct a massive patch, not to fix all the problems but rather to make it playable for a night without some sort of crash.
With all respect
