 Greets from a real old fella down in New Zealand.
I downloaded a trial version of Civ 3, had to zip up my Civ 1 and Civ 2 files to make some room. Now guess what? Some silly old fart (me) forgot to use the include folders setting on Winzip, so when I went to re-install the files, well -- umm -- no go zee game no more. Can anyone help with the directory names and which file goes in what. Or point me to the right help file. Thank you kindly. (25 years of computer experience and I STILL stuff up.)

Well as you didn't specify which versions of the games you have are I'll try to do my best, my classic Civ2 directory have the following subfolders:
EREG which is electronic regestration and not necessary
LIBRARY which I don't remeber being there, but it has a copy of the .gif files in it, but don't think its necessary either
PEDIA which should have all your .pde .pdf .pdg files also get_info.exe civjump.dll get_info.txt files that end in _a, _b etc. and wordlist
SCENARIO where all your scenarios go suprisingly enough
SOUND where all the sound (.wav) files go
As for civ 1, all the version I have are in just the main directory so that should work.

Thanks for your help guys. I'll try using that info. Down here at not-quite-the-bottom-of-the-world we didn't get many versions of things. Just the basics. I only ever saw or had the one copy or version of both Civilization and Civilization II. Never saw or heard of any varieties at all. Of course that was in the early days of "The Net" and our software dealers were all out for the quick sale. Grab the cash, Stuff the support. Anyway my original CD's are long gone, nicked, so I couldn't re-install.

I don't remember seeing those either. Memories not good at my age, which is err...ummm... I forget.

That's what I thought, but no go. Bummer. Oh well, I'll keep trying. Don't play Civ1 too much now. It's Civ 2 or Railroad Tycoon or Empires mostly. Thanx again guys.
