Demographics

Hey all.

I've been playing CIV3 for quite some time, but i never really understood, which data the demographics (ranks) are based on.

I've read a lot of Forums, but i can't seem to find any answers to this, neither in the Manual.

Are there any inlightened people out there, in pocession of this knowledge ?? - Please share your wisdom with me
