oooh you Rambo you!

Also - no distilleries allowed - a competant toolsman could make a still on the island using one of the above :p

Couldn't you follow the power cord back to civilization?

I'll take a good hasp/file and a lathe.

damn :cringe: then i take the chainsaw. if you want coconuts, cut the tree with the chainsaw. if you want to open the coconut, use the chainsaw again :D. i wonder if coconuts contain enough sugar...

No silly, fish are naturally saw-proof.....

A chainsaw, it cuts down trees to make the raft, and than you unscrew the blade and run the chain to the paddle-wheel so you can cross the ocean faster!

Home Improvment made it across the Atlantic but not Gilligan's Island? Weird network people. Anyway I think the chainsaw would give the best chance of survival.

Ohh, this gets my "Junk Yard Wars" vibe going...

Jack hammer (with atomic battery) -- no question -- it has got the biggest motor of the selection. Use it to chisel out a luxury cave as I figure out and practice my improvised mechanical engineering. Probably sculpt some stone gearing and use the jack hammer as a piston drive for a grinding wheel, bellows, etc. Ultimately, use the piston/jack hammer to turn the rock prop to push my raft back to civilization (at which point I will swear off seafood).

So... the jack hammer.

puglover, you must be real bored to go digging up all the good old threads. are you reading all of them?:D

It's just new threads don't come up fast enough to meet my CFC sceduele. Besides, I wanted to resurrect the oldest thread here. And I did! :)

No thats the oldest in 60 days, ther are much older ones than that! But I warn you bringing these posts back for no reason can be considered spamming

i said jigsaw, it's just so damn versatile! also, who cares about it being an old thread, i missed it first time around :)

notice, the chainsaw is BATTERY POWERED!!! you can't even pour out the gasoline to make fireworks.... what kind of ****ting saw is that anyway? It'll be a gutless, powerless thing that jams. That said, blowtorches are the best. If you turn up the nozzle enuff, you can make a hefty flamethrower :satan:

Given the massive amount of opportunity for opening myself up like a canned ham with a chainsaw, I'll take a nice, safe, non-bladed tool, give me the jackhammer. I'll have a nice cozy cave, can shake the coconuts down from the trees, and split them open easily, can break off sections of shale and flint to knap into knives, axes, and such, and yes, mine for coal or other minerals to make myself more comfortable with. If the mining doesn't pan out, the powerful motor in the jackhammer can easily be made into a pump, as it already has a piston in it, allowing me to have indoor plumbing in my custom-carved cave.

Shoot, if I could rig up a satellite Internet connection, I wouldn't even WANT to be rescued...

EDIT: 'canned hamed'?:crazyeye:
