So I am going to try and play the original Deus Ex game and I was wondering, what do I do? I am already having a hard time on the first mission on normal difficulty and I was wondering what should I do about playing this game?

This is one of the games I have played through from beginning to end the most in my life, at LEAST half a dozen times, so I can definitely help, but you're gonna need to ask more specific questions than just "what do I do". Are you looking for advice on playstyle? What skills you should use? Ask specific questions and I can answer you better.

Keep playing, the survival aspect of the first playthrough when you don't know where anything is was fun for me. Many good remembers.

Thanks. So is this game a open world game like HR? I've heard that you get to explore most places. What locations are there to explore?

So apparently i have this glitch that every time I pick the Tazer it always sticks to that weapon even if I try to select something else. Is this just a glitch or what?

It is a pretty open world. Can't compare it to HR as I've only played the original. But, while you start out on Liberty Island, you'll get to explore more of New York and several other places around the world. I won't list them all out, it's better to not know everything ahead of time.

Stealth can be pretty helpful. I'm not one of those crazy people who plays the entire game without shooting anyone, but it can make a considerable difference. And the aiming system does take a lot of getting used to.

Also, the first mission is not particularly easy. There are a lot of chances to get tripped up. Save often, you never know when there's a tripbomb around the corner. And Kozmos is right... it took me 35-40 hours the first playthrough, but after that, when I had an idea where hazards were, it went a fair amount quicker.

Yeah neither this game nor HR are open world. They both have fairly large levels which you can explore more or less at your own pace but they still can't be called anything but levels in the traditional sense, you can't go back to them once you've left unless a return trip is mandated by the plot.

That tazer thing you are experiencing is definitely a glitch, never seen that before.

Okay thanks, I've unselected it and placed it in my inventory. Maybe that might work.

God damn it.

It has been a while though, must have completed this game at least 4 times now.
