Yep, it's that time again to reflect back on the game, since we're almost done. ;)

List what you think of each option:

Turning Point -
1. 5 turn galley that met the other civs.
2. Rich resources from the start.
3. Other

Luckiest Break -
1. Rich resources from the start.
2. Zojoji getting coal for Christmas.
3. Other

Most memorable war -

1. Any of the Roman wars.
2. Iroquois Wars.
3. World War I

(yes, that implies there WILL be world wars after the game is over. ;) :mischief: )

High-point of the game -
Discuss...

Low-point of the game (or which event could have led to our loss?
Discuss...

And anything else you want to add.

Dont forget about the French and Babylon war that we saw and never partisipated in ;).

Added 2 more.

Anyway... my thoughts.

Turning Point - 5 turn galley that met the other civs.

Once we found the other civs, we never looked back in the tech race.

Luckiest Break - Rich resources from the start.
Had to be our rich resources. Food, iron, and other resources.

Most memorable war -World War I

I think this one was memoriable. Could have had some more roleplay from our citizens though.

High-point of the game - Not sure of an exact point.

Low-point of the game (or which event could have led to our loss?) - Not sure. Probably a general indecision on a victory (hoping for 2050AD histographic win -- the AI could have won by spaceship).

Turning Point -
Turning point for me was when I realized Culture was being suppressed. It was kind of empty for me after that.

Luckiest Break -
I believe our luckiest break was when President DaveShack was able, on his fourth try, to successfully create a demogame world for us to live on.

Most memorable war -
I would have to say the first Roman war, as that was all I really participated in. My war plan failed miserably when our Swordsmen couldn't break through the Roman Spearman. I was active in the Zulu war, but only briefly.

High-point of the game -
Being able to write the Zojoji City thread and having the help of all the people who joined in. Being part of the RPG was also fun.

Low-point of the game -
When the DP had to be CCd because she changed the Build Queues.

Turning Point
When we started the game, otherwise these other countries would have had a chance...

Luckiest Break
Have to agree with Cyc, what if we actually could have used one of the earlier ones? Our world would be entirely different

Most Memorable War
umm not sure...

High Point of Game
What high point?

Low Point of Gamep
Me being forced by the constitution to prosecute the most trivial and pointless CC in well.... history
Im not the JA anymore, so I can reveal my true feelings about the CC :p

Turning Point
Doing the game on Monarch.

Luckiest Break
We got all resources including coal, but didn't have terrible terrain (ie; all jungle).

Most Memorable War
Roman Conquest I

High Point of the Game
Crusing to victory from Turn 0.

Low Point of the Game
The CCs as well as having 3! polls to build our FP.

In general, I wouldn't say this was the best DG that I have witnessed, but they are always fun, even when crusing to victory.

I would consider the 5-turn Galley as the "Luckiest Break", as well as the possible Turning Point. I mean, the RNG was favorable to us then, right?

Luckiest Break
Noticing that the initial, false starts had incorrect settings right away instead of playing a millenium or two first.

High Point of the Game
Having so many different people contributing compared to the other 2 I played in.

Low Point of the Game
Being forced onto vanilla. Personal low point: having RL cut into so much of the middle terms that I had no idea what was going on.

Turning Point

The Roman War, we turned from large local power to superpower

Luckiest Break

Russia attacking us before we attacked them and seting off our MPP

Most Memorable War

Roman War.

High Point of the Game

Being elected, then the Russian Crisis which was almost averted.

Low Point of the Game

When the zulus attacked, why? why?

Turnin Point
Choosing Monarchy for difficult

Luckiest Break
Meeting the other continent

Most Memorable Moment

The various CCs

High Point of the game
All the various citizen group's that were made

Low Point
Fierce flame war(s)

Turning Point
Don't you need to be behind to have a turning point? I'll say Turn 0.

Luckiest Break
The miraculous 5-turn galley.

Most Memorable War
The first Roman War. For all its barbarism, it was a very important point in our civilization.

Most Memorable Moment
The various Hawk v. Dove debates (before they descended into flaming).

High Point of the Game
Getting my first taste of being an elected official.

Low Point of the Game
The Forbidden Palace debacle. Honestly, you'd think fairly intelligent people like us could've handled it better.

Turning Point

We had the game in the bag once I convinced everyone that Furuyama should be built on the coast, sparing our nation the embarrassment of kicking off with two 1-tile-inland cities.

Luckiest Break

Being surrounded by Monarch-level AI, and of course, the five-turn Galley.

Most Memorable Moment

As always, the CC of Chieftess. But we will have all forgotten about it when it happens again next game, right? :groucho:

High Point of the game

For me, it was the great debate I had with Nobody for Term 5 FA. I lost!

Low Point

The ridiculous "Game starts in 4 Days" decree right in the middle of Constitutional discussions put the game on edge from the beginning. :(

Turning Point
Starting in a location that is very rich in resources.

Luckiest Break
Getting coal within Zojoji's borders.

Most Memorable War
Iroquois Wars.

High Point of the Game
Personaly for me, its when I made a comeback into the offices :).

Low Point of the Game
Having RL butt into the game ;)

turning point
Roman war , it made us into a superpower and I got to say I come not to praise caesar but to bury him in a completely out of context manner

luckiest break
not having Russian war start out worse then it did

Most Memorable moment
DG5CC1 was very memorable for me as the judge advocate at the end of the case, but I also remember my sparring match with strider after the court ordered a special election between DZ and CG for FA

High point
being elected to my first term in the JA's office

Low point
even letting DG5CC2 get into office, that was a piece of BS and looking back I feel like an idiot for even letting it get on the docket in the first place . It wasn't entertainment it was idiocy

Turning points

Excellent start location and plenty of resources we simply had to win.

Luckiest Break

When we decided on the Term One technology Policy, which positioned us for Continental control

Most memorable moment

Zulu war, which was done exactly as doctrine predicted with solid success for such a minor war and limited conquest (gem monopoly, great leader for FP and a good peace.

High Point

The Forbidden Palace charade, extremely entertaining political conflict which proved the need for private law in Japanatica. In fact, most legislations start out with private law, and we never had one, and the lack of one made this hilariously fun. (RPG)

Low Point

Getting dedicated "bickering partners", three named players, that seemed to have my removal and limited/threadjacked activity as their sole agenda, leading up to the infamous failed coup'detat attempt on MSAV Term V, when I was banned and Deputy takeover announced the very second I was banned, which is the first time I saw something like this attempted. This also curtailed the game focus as it got personal.

Good times huh Provo? Especially since you like to mention it in every post you make now

Every post that you comment, Mr Bicker.

If you really insist... I've kept my mouth shut for a while but it's starting to get on my nerves.
