Hello,

I just downloaded Brave New World last night, and in the game I started afterwards, the Trade section of the diplomacy screen is broken. In the section where you usually put what you want for the trade, there's a list of all the possible categories, and they're not expandable. I had also expected there to be something about opening an embassy, and I can't find that anywhere.

I don't know how to find out what patch I'm on, but Steam says I'm up to date. I validated my local files, and I tried the bug fix described here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=499780

I'm attaching the game that I saved. Oh, and I'm playing with InfoAddict, if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance!

Pretty sure the fix in that thread was implemented generally in the August hotfix patch, so that shouldn't be the issue. What game version are you running (at the bottom of the main menu it should say 1.0.3.80 if you are up to date).

Anyway, just opened the save and it is behaving fine. Was able to exchange embassies with Monty. Was also able to expand all of the other trade screen items and do trades with him (he's the only AI you've met, it appears).

I do have the right patch, 1.0.3.80, but it's still behaving weirdly for me. Also, it's got a little picture of Washington, and says that Germany is asking me what I proposed....

Even stranger, I just went in and took a couple of screenshots, and none of the text or other images were saved. It's just Monty glaring at me.

This usually happens when playing an old save that was created before a major patch or expansion. Though in your case I bet it's the InfoAddict, probably using an outdated version not meant for BNW.

I'll see if I can find a newer version of InfoAddict. If I can't find one, I'll try playing without it.

Thanks, Hpuk!

InfoAddict is the problem. You probably have an old, incompatible version.

You can try using Global Relations. It will make you a better player in the long run. ;)

Yep, I found the new version, and also found Global Relations. I've been in an InfoAddict game for the last couple of hours, but I'll try Global Relations next.
