When I press F4 to open the diplomacy screen in a huge game, is there any way to display the rest of my opponenets, as so far I can only get it show 7 of them. Also anyone noticed how stupid Alexander looks in industrial ages? (bowler hat and thick glasses).

I'm not sure if it works the same way in vanilla, but in C3C you can select the leaderhead of another civ, and there's a button in the upper left-hand corner that will pull down a list box. Choose a civ in the list box and it will be placed in the spot of the leaderhead you previously selected...

It doesn't work in Vanilla. There's a keyboard shortcut that allows you to switch which leader is in which spot. (Mind you, I've only got an unpatched version at the moment, so it might have been fixed in later patches). I can't remember what it is offhand, but it's mentioned in the readme file (though not the manual). Obviously they forgot how many civs could be in the game when designing the diplomacy screen, and only put in a fix at the last minute.

Yes. Select an AI leader head. Next, select the box in the upper left hand corner of the screen. Select another civ, and it replaces the AI that you had previously selectred. Hope it makes sense.

You can also enter diplomacy with the "hidden" civs via the economic advisor screen (a crummy shortcut I used when playing vanilla).

You can use shift-D instead of the F4 screen. This will give you a list of the AIs you can talk to.

I would download the latest version of Mapstat. It has a trading utility that lets you instantly see what all the AIs have for trade. Really cuts down on the hassle when you have many opponents.

Since #1 is already answered I'll respond to this ;)
I've noticed the Greek and Roman leaderheads look quite similar through all the ages, similar clothes and backdrop.
