Back in civ1/2, you could easily tell a civ's current government, ancient/medieval/industrial/modern age, and power by looking at the leader (And his assistants) 's pic during a diplomatic meeting.
In civ3, you can only tell in which age the civ is.
It doesn't add much to functionality, but I've always thought it was nice to have. Now I have to ESC, then use the miltary advisor to see... Extra steps are bad for my carpal tunnels
