Disable Volcanoes?

I seem to remember a pop up read me or a blurb somewhere mentioning how to disable volcanoes entirely. I am unable to find these directions now that i want them though. Anyone out there know how to turn these off (they are enourmously annoying)?

hmm but no toggle to turn it off.... only something called a maximum eruption period 100-1000. any ideas ?

No idea, but I dont see why the heck you would disable this feature

I'd like there to be a way to turn off the "volcano is active" and "volcano has erupted" pop-ups that show every turn. It's not bad when it's in my territory, but when the game announces a volcanic eruption halfway across the world, I really don't need to know that... nor do I care. In fact, I'm glad the volcanoes are erupting and hopefully destroying AI cities and improvements!

I've been playing this game since its release and I've only seen one city destroyed by a volcano.

One time, there was a samll island off my western coast, and it was resource rich. It had iron, coal, gold, gems, and two fish and a whale. Ocean would be the food support, and a grass tile. The rest was mountains.

But there was also a volcano. I settled there anyway, and it erupted three times. Luckily, it always went away from my city!

In the Rhye's of Civilization mod, he has the volcanoes set to 100 THOUSAND (will erupt at least once in that many years). I haven't seen one erupt yet at that setting.

BTW, just discovered it today.

You should just leave it on, its more fun that way.
