Disappearing Units/Interface

I recently installed beyond the sword, and for a week or so, it worked perfectly. But now, all my units are invisible, city names and population bars do not appear, and other more minor things are also missing or incomplete. It is getting really annoying to play, because of the difficulty in finding my units without seeing them...Please help!

you probably clicked on bare map mode - one of the buttons in the lower right hand corner disables that
