This is the discussion thread for Arete.

Date: 3400 BC
Poplulation: 2
Happy Limit: 5
Health Limit: 3

Buildings: none
Producing: scout, due in 8
Growth in 8

Working: grassland forest (2f 1h), pigs (3f 1c)
+3 :food: 10 :science: 2 :hammers:

Development needs:
Workboat will net the fish on the next turn, tile will be 5 :food: 2 :commerce:. Work instead of pigs.
Pasture on the pigs will make the tile 6 :food: 1 :commerce:.

With fish and pigs improved, health and happy limit will both be 5.

Copied to another thread, since people didn't pay any attention to the "this is an info thread discuss elsewhere" notice.

Why in the name of all what's holy are we working the forest instead of the horses?

I just checked the most recent save (turn 15) and indeed this screenie is up to date. I suggest that Ozog immediately send his legion of laborers South to Blastoids Stables. For here we gain extra gold for our soothsayers research.

Somebody must've forgotten to switch that after we discovered AH..

I think we lost 1 turn there, but we were all surprised by getting Animal Husbandry from the 2nd village, after getting agriculture in the first.

We just discovered horses, and as your leader of the way of the people. I will get us to work on those horses.

Its one of the many things that I plan for the next turn set ;)

Also next turn we will be working the fish rather then the pigs, we will have the same production, but a major increase in commerce and food.

have we got any workers?

Not yet Joe, first one will be produced after scout i thought..

why not i thought it would be the first thing we built after the woakboat??!!!

I believe this is because the scout is done same turn as growth, which allows an additional citizen to help get the worker out. Although I still think Worker should be prioritized as we have horses to improve...!

I think this is the reasoning, because it times well with growth. I was in favor of doing a worker as fast as possible; this solution is fine by me.

Remember the warrior returns now, to let a scout handle the scouting from now on. We only have one warrior at large, remember.

I propose that after the scout is built, a worker be built immedately following this.
We may be ready to found another city then.

I also propose that following the workers creation and it's building the Pasture in road on the Horse tile that it build a road thru my tile (NE) and then a Pasture and road on the Pigs.

I would concur since I'd want a warrior to protect the settler.

I propose,and/or suggest, that after building the worker we build another warrior. We may need extra defence early if we don't build the great wall!

Yes, but I'd still prefer a road-connection to the Pigs so if a barb warrior comes around it can't raid our Pigs.

A small detail; the pigs are riverside (for info in Original Post)

Um I was planning that we were going to get the scout contstructed as to have our warrior guarding our city. And produce a worker-tiles i want to work asap, horses, pigs, roads for both.

After I was planning to build a warrior and then a settler.

What do you guys think?

For those of you who don't know, I am in the Philosophers, and its my job to micromanage the capital and choose production.
