Distant Multiplayer Start - Spreads human players apart in multiplayer games.

This mod maximizes the starting distance between human players in multiplayer games.

When I am playing multiplayer Civ VI, I like it when the human players have some time to grow their civs before meeting each other, rather than starting too close together and being forced into an early confrontation. This mod was built to satisfy my own desires - and perhaps yours :)

It is recommended to read this documentation before running the mod, as it contains some important details....

Exsertis updated Distant Multiplayer Start with a new update entry:

Disable mod functionality if 12-player limit is exceeded

The mod will now refrain from taking effect if there are more than 12 players in the game (the max number supported by the Civ VI base game).

The current version of the mod was built to handle a maximum of 12 players. It has not been tested with higher numbers of players. With the current algorithms employed by the mod, too many players could potentially crash the game due to the complexity of analyzing so many starting position combinations.

The 'Fall 2017' Civ VI patch includes an updated version of 'AssignStartingPlots.lua'. An adjusted version of this script is used by the Distant Multiplayer Start mod.

Distant Multiplayer Start functionality has been re-applied on top of the updated script from the Fall 2017 patch, ensuring that the mod and the patch are fully compatible.
