Do I need CIV/Warlords to play BTS?

Hi.

So I'd like to play BTS. I think I need CIV but not Warlords.

BTS $30
Warlords $18
CIV $38

That's still $68 to play one game....I'm hoping BTS comes with CIV, but I'm thinking of course not true or false?

You only need Civ4 for BTS. Warlords is not required. No need to get Warlords as BTS has everything that Warlords has except scenarios.

Just get Civ4 & BTS.

You do not need Warlords - in fact, BtS comes with all Warlords features except scenarios.

You do need Civ 4 (vanilla) however. Are you sure you have to pay $38 for it? It should be in a bargain bin by now.

Civ4 is still $40 at every major retailer...I'd be wary of anyone selling it at a normal price below that....although it is possible to get it on sale sometimes for less than $40.

Have to agree here - I went the Ebay route because retailers in Canada were still selling Civ IV (a 2005 product) at the full $60 CAN price. By buying from USA, I also got a printed manual (bilingual versions here have no printed manual).

I got a sealed version of Civ 4 from ebay for about 35 bucks
