do mods affect achievments.

recently ive started using mods and as such i seem to have stopped gaining achievements. i recently just beat the game with china on prince with a science victory all for the first time but yet no achievements. do mods prevent you gaining achievements?

Mods disable achievement gaining. So yes.

The only way to earn achievements is through normal game (no mods) or Scenarios and Unmodded Scenarios.

I think they disabled the achievements because a person could easily modify the game to get the achievements "quicker". Besides, most of the mods change the way the game behaves anyway.

There's the 'play the game with a mod' achievement, at least you will have got that one I suppose...

There's 3 mod-related achievement.
DOWNLOAD a mod
RATE a mod
and PLAY with a mod.

Just a minor note, multiplayer also disables all but one achievement (Win a MP match/game)
