"Do Nothing" should have a side option to fortify for one turn.

Right now, we only have the option to "fortify" and sometimes fail to remember that the unit is there fortified. "Fortify until healed" - which is not allowed when you are full HP and sometimes takes too long when you actually just wanted for one turn.
And do nothing itself, which doesn't serve any purpose excep for "stay there and serve as bait for the enemy" or as "temporary sentry", however, no bonuses.
Of course people will argue that "you can manually check all your units every turn and wake them up" - as if turns didn't get so busy at later eras with lots and lots of units.

Side note: after an unit is alerted, you can't skip turn with them as well. Only option is to move or fortify, which sucks.
 
I notice a lot of actions have gone missing from 5 and I don't know why.
Sometimes I can automate my scout to explore...sometimes I can't. I have no idea if this depends on its health or the presence of enemy units nearby or what...
