Do you find yourself roleplaying with certain AIs

I like how Civ 5 has developed each Civilizations AI personality so uniquely. Alexander and Siam for instance are always going try to backstab and destroy me, so I never trust them but I've noticed that other AIs are far more friendly and willing to work with you.

I've played a few games with Brazil as an AI and I always seem to end up on good terms with Pedro, so much so that if I meet Brazil AI I will try to initiate friendly relations because that AI seems quite predictable, easy to befriend and remarkably loyal. And once I'm friends with Pedro it will often last for the entire game except if ideologies etc conflict...

Zulu is another interesting AI, if you can get past their initial hatred of you and spread them your religion and give them a few concessions they can also become quite friendly and they don't seem to backstab too readily either.
That said if you get any AI as a neighbour you'll probably end up at war. If your position is weak they'll try to kill you but if you're too successful they'll often resent that as well.

Do other people play with this in mind - Allying the AIs that are more passive or can be easily tamed?

I am a sucker for historical irony if the conditions are right. Go stomp on Augustus a bit when I'm playing Greece or Carthage. Settle squeaky new cities on Spain's smoky ruins as the Aztecs. Conquer Istanbul and Edirne and renaming them Constantinople and Adrianople.

Yeah, historical irony is awesome. In the BNW Scenario playing as the Aztecs, Spain and most of Europe was super-friendly to me for some reason all the while saying the "considered my land theirs". I finally had enough of this duplicity and initiated. Rushed Spain when I got musketmen and cannons. Crushed them. Then I crushed England, then France. Pretty much everyone that messed with Mexico or North America in real history I made it my mission to flatten and drive off the New World. It was suprisingly easy with the Aztecs I just needed to play it peaceful and spam trade routes long enough to tech the military technologies. By the end of the game all the European powers were annoyed at my incessant warmongering and all the Native Americans loved me...well except for the Inca...jealous B*stards.

I just want to role-play every game. Making decisions as if I was a real life leader, try to like Alexander but still fail and end up killing him, protecting every nearby City-State so they will honor me as their hero
