As a recent convert, I went through a few weeks of "This isn't as good as CIV II" before reaching the "Omygod this is so much better than CIV II" point, and I think that's a fairly common experience.
But then, I'm Single Player only.
It occurs to me that, given that this is the "Civilization Fanatics' Forum," and not the "People Who Got Really Disillusioned With Civilization Some Years Back Forum," it's probably a foregone conclusion that we'll all basically say that the game works.
