Does schism occur in CIV 3?

Does schism (not sure abt the spelling)occur in CIVIII like it did in CIV II?Like when u capture a capital of a great city,the whole empuire is divided into half?

No, there are no civil wars in Civ III. The only possibility of a 'dead' civ coming back is if you check the toggle 'Respawn AI Players'. This will allow an AI player to restart if there is territory for it to do so.

what happened in civ 2? i dont remember that?

In Civ2, when a capital city was captured, there was the possibility of a civil war, which would effectively split the empire belonging to said capital into two (one of which was a new civ that previously would not have been in the game).
