Does the D2D verison work?

I purchased the two cd edition from a local Circuit City, which has one of those wonderful return policies that doesnt allow anything opened to be returned. The installation worked just fine but then when i try and run the game i get the Bad Disk error, (please insert disk one) i've tried everything and it still doesnt work. I was wondering if people have had better luck with the D2D version, ill accept that it doesnt work but i want to buy a version that does. Thanks for any help you fine folks can provide me.

Since your installation worked and you have a workable launch (.exe) file, you best bet is to try using a DAEMON tool along with Anti-blaxx. I always seem to loose my disc or they get scratched. This tool allows you to play the game without the CD even being in your drive. If you do some research on the net, you'll figure it out.

The Direct2Drive version is working fine for me. I had some problems with patching to 1.52 but i found the solution and posted it on the forums. It just comes in one big .exe file so little room for error. The one on the website is for v1.9 so patching to 1.52 will be silch for ya.
