i find it strange that once you have researched Bronze Working, you are no longer able to build Beastman in any cities, the only way to obtain them afterwards it by upgrading warriors/slaves. Why is it that only for the Doviello it is like this.

PS Can anyone tell me how I can quickly change this?

It's only for the Doviello because they don't have any building required to build the Sons of Asena. That means that they instantly obsolete Beastmen when Bronze Working is researched. No way to fix that easily unless you set Beastmen to <NeverObsolete>1</NeverObsolete>, at least I think that's the tag in the UnitInfos.xml

Hmm, wouldn't one have to have researched Archery as well for this to happen? (all upgrades need to be researched usually for a unit to go obsolete...)

If that is true it might be advisable to not research Archery...

Also you still might be able to upgrade workers to beastmen if you lack the money to have them go up to get them up to sons of Arsena if I'm not utterly mistaken... (and its more expensive than 5 anyways...)

I think this is all we know about them:
Civilopedia said:
Doviello legend says that early in the Age of Winter a Hippus city was destroyed by the Illians. One small baby survived the slaughter and was left alone until a she-wolf passed through the ruins and heard the baby's cries. She raised the human baby on her milk and he became the father of the Doviello civilization. The wolf's name was Asena and Doviello Axemen are named after this legend.

There have been many attempts by the Doviello to imply some greater lineage. Their stories often conflict and have little to do with actual history. This legend is no different.

The truth is that the Doviello are the mutts of Erebus, made up of men and women who cast off their humanity in an attempt to survive in the Age of Ice. They were as likely to adopt a few members from a conquered tribe as they were to kill a few of their own each week in brutal infighting. As such no true lineage could ever be traced, except that only the strongest and most violent would remain among their ranks for more than a few days.

You don't even need to research archery for them to be disabled, its ass soon as your research Bronze Working. You can still upgrade slaves and workers to Beastman though, you have to anyway as you can't upgrade straight to Son of Asena.
