I tried searching...

Am I the only one that misses the map drawing tools? You know, the ability to draw lines on the map and have them still be visible on the game map?

I used to use them pretty heavily to plan out city locations...

I know I know, you don't NEED them... but just like the missing in-game clock, it seems like a touch that is just missing.

I think map drawing tools is also good for planning out military strategy. I occasionally used them in Civ4 to draw where my front-line is at and then draw arrows to show where it should be going. This kind of help reduces the potential mistakes I can make in maneuvering my units during a war. :)

It was included in Civilization IV since, I think, vanilla. Could be later in one of two expansion packs, not sure. It wasn't definitely a mod, since I've never downloaded any mods that provides this (I should know, as I usually look for and read the information on mods and there was no mention of them included in them. It was already there before I installed first mod anyway).

pretty sure it was vanilla... I never downloaded any mods... I never got this feeling of "missing" things with Civ IV... in fact I always felt like there were things I still had not discovered

In a similar vein I miss the sign feature. Was great for pointing out future city spots, for naming important areas (such as a resource I need to harvest) and for just having fun like naming mountain ranges, rivers, important battles, etc.
