Hi, Recently I was playing 2 player multiplayer games with my friend, but my friend kept on deviating from the host every 2 turns. What is the root of the problem here and how can I actually fix this? Can anyone please help me? I will really appreciate any replies on this thread. Thank You.

If you are playing using Steam lobby, you'll desync every turn if you are playing cross platform. I play on PC, and Mac players have that problem when I host a game.

When I played, me and my friend both are using PC Windows. So what actually is the problem?

Desyncs are caused by a player's game not being the same as the host's. Common causes are differences in mods, high packet loss on the connection and spotty connections. Some ISP have aggressive anti-ddos protocols, and the Steam has an aggressive connection maintenance protocols that rely on a high frequency of pings. Bad mix as this can cause the gateway to shut ports. Both players should have the ports Steam uses forwarded to avoid this.

I actually have this problem playing on Mac with my friends. The guy that hosts the game plays on PC and I'm the only one who desyncs every game on turn 80 or something like that
