DVD disk won't work

I just got CivIV and found out it doesn't work. When I put the DVD in it doesn't run and just makes a wierd clicking noise, it doesn't show and error message or anything. DVD movies still work. Does anyone have a solution to this?

Unfortunately not!
I have the same problem, only getting a clicking noise from the DVD.
The DVD works for other DVD-games and CD’s

I have been able to look on the files with a DVD player I have on a relay old Laptop. Have tried to map the drive and install over the network but it did not work.

I also have this problem, except I have an AMD athlon, 1.25Gz, 1GB of Ram and a nVidia Geforce 6600 card. This is really weird and distressing because other games work without problems. I've tried new drivers, disabling microphones and other software I thought may be interfering but still no dice.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, for anyone else who come across this thread with the same problems:
The solution is for me was to go make some toast. The dvd-rom clicks, whistles and spits for about two minutes before working just fine! It's really weird, and I have to wonder just where the disks were made.
