DVD does not recognize blank dvd's anymore

My dvd and cd drives do not work with blank disks anymore. They work fine with disks that have material on them. the computer dose recognize the drives and I have updated them.
Please help me.

Okay, you're gonna need to tell us what made you come to this conclusion ( does the windows 'burn a dvd' thing just not come up, or do other programs not see blank disks either )
