Early war and unit combat

You're absolutely right, Burpman (AKA as Gastric Reflux) :)
2,500 is a minimum, suppose you start with bronze working, then in 1,500 AD your spearman would have... close to 5,000 years of training.
I guess in such a long time you can masterize your body pretty well....
Don't forget the Swiss Guard's training and use of the anti-tank spears in use today, affectionately known by the troops as "The Can Opener." ;)

Don't forget that the defence of mainland japan in wwII was going to be fought with steak knives on the end of broom sticks, same would probably have happened in britian after all the guns were in enemy hands.

Any way, the only one to blame for killer spearmen is yourself. tests have shown that RNG (as can any random event, the tests used ball bearings) can be effected by psychic powers- obviously your psychic powers are weak old man.

Smoking mirror, you are, of course, referring to the world famous Ginsu steak knives when you say the Japanese were going to defend themselves with steak knives on broomsticks. I know if I had to fend off an invasion of my homeland with nothing but a steak knife, I'd make it a Ginsu.

I was playing a game where the Romans were confined to a small island with 7 cities. They were constantly landing settlers/legionaries on my shores so I decided to take out their homeland. I loaded 32 MA/MI in transports and invaded on 3 shores. The next turn the assaults on their cities proceeded. I only manged to take 2 cities. Not that I was losing units, but their were so many legionary and archers and a few riflemen that I ran out of units to attack with. Darn those cannon fodder units.
