(okay, NOW I got time)

First of all, my thanks to Quintilus. He did one of the best earth maps I've ever played.

Well... this map is the result of time travel going wrong. You see, in the year 2099, the Earth was incredibly polluted, and the shadow of nuclear war haunted humanity. Superpowers were close enough to the point of pushing the button. So, a group of scientists reunited soldiers, scientists and other personel to save humanity. They found that the only way to save humanity was to go back to 4000 BC and then rebuild humanity without the flaws of the older empires. Burden full with technology and weapons, they travelled back to the 4000 BC. However, this went wrong. VERY WRONG. The reactor sustaining the portals had a overload followed by a meltdown. And the time travellers scattered across the globe, with only enough technology for each group to live in Industrial Age level of technology. Now, each group pretends to rebuild humanity from the beginning... THEIR WAY. And this is how this map starts.

I've modified some little rules:

First: Settlers cost 5 pop. It's my way to slow expansion and show how the groups are personel-short. I need feedback to see if it's too much or 4 pop would have done it.

Second: You begin with a thousand gold.

Third: I am thinking about the barbarians. I want them to be primitive, but a little more advanced, because not all scientists went to each group, some of them were scattered in the wilds and were either captured or wandered into the tribes. They possibly used their scientific abilities to give better weapons to the barbarians, willingly... or not.

Fourth: I need new UUs for nations that have pre-industrial UUs. Any ideias?

Bump.

And also, I am going to work a little on the placement of resources. Do anyone have any idea of were I can place resources realisticaly, without crippling players??

No, this is a map, but I'm going to do some little changes. But not big changes enough to be a mod, I think. This is more like my first atempt at map-making. If it's on the wrong session, I have no problem if a mod moves it.

EDIT: I think I'll do modify some little things, like civilization names and all leader names.

There's these civilization names that I want to substitute, and the possible substitutes (need feedback, guys):

Aztecs, Inca, Maya, Babylon, Summeria, Otomman, Persians, Byzantines, Rome, Celts, Carthage, Iroquois and Hittites.

Possible substitutes:

Mexico, Brazil (the traits just fit right with Brazil), Argentina, Iraq, Israel (possibly), Turky, Iran, Italy, Lybian (I don't know what I use in the place of Carthage), Indian American and Georgian.

I need to substitute the names because it's strange to have industrial Hittites, and there's no reason for a group to use that name. What do you guys think?

Also... leader names. I need suggestions. I'm horribly bad with names.

with the name I dont know for example if there from that civilization Ex:germany make it a german name by leader as in the guys that leads the civ right,oh and also mabye name them after famous people from that civ thats all I can think of.

another way I think you could improve it is by when you attack the the barbarians which could help out your scenario you get a scientist and get one free tech about putting reasources in right place go to Creation Resource Library theres lot of maps there.

I aslo want to ask why do you have specific place for other civ and not all (werent they all scatered) and just to let you know I found your story really interesting so you can call me a beta tester.

Aaah, that location thing is from the map itself. Now that I'm back with my computer, I'll fix that, put a readme, make a zip and change teh barbs. Just gotta do some stuff and I'm ready to go!

I never liked the map... europe looks quite bad and all in all there are many important rivers missing (no Jangtse, no Rhine, no Danube, no Mekong and so on...)
