Easy to Use Build Queues

Hey guys. One of the things I loved about Civ 4 was how easy it was to add items to build queues. By pressing CRTL of SHIFT keys before clicking, you could easily add new build orders to the top or the bottom of build queues. Is there a way to do the same in Civ BE? There was a mod called "Improved Build Queues" in Civ 5 but they didn't update it and it became useless.

If you know something similar to that, please inform me.

In the city screen there is a check box on the bottom called Activate. When you check it the pull down in the top will change from 'Change Production' to 'Add to Queue'. There will be a list of the queue in the bottom right with a X next to each item for if you want to remove it.

Basically No. They also removed simple drag and drop to be replaced with 4 clicks. THey also took out the facility to cut and paste build queues from one city to the next. I beggars belief what game designers think these days, people are not that stupid, and drag and drop is even more prevalant now with the advent of tablets.

To me the UI is becoming a major gripe with Firaxis games, you actually get fatigue from playing them though struggling with the UI.

I agree, better build queue management would be great. When starting a new city later in the game the number of buildings available is just staggering. Would be so great to have more keyboard focused UI development. Using the mouse is such a pain, especially when elements are spread all over the screen. I especially miss the build queues from Civ 4 you could save to a hot key (I think it was CTRL+# to save a build queue for a city, then Shift+# to load it in another city. The really great thing about this queue is that it would work just fine if a building wasn't eligible to build it or had already produced it.

So there isn't something similar, right? Damn! I loved that in Civ 4. It's truly incomprehensible why such a simple yet useful convenience was removed from the game.

So I guess we have to wait for someone to create a mod like "Improved Build Queues" from Civ 5.

Civ BE end game is fighting against the city screen, not the AI factions.

-toggle building que
- add a few buildings
-struggle to click the tiny up or down arrows to change the building order.
-change cities (to one currently using the 25% production to culture feature)
-forced to untoggle que and return to normal change production
-choose a building
-retoggle building que
-repeat many more times

The User Interface Tweaks mod (which takes the form of a DLC so it works in multiplayer) improves the build queue greatly. For example you can:
  • Click on "Add to Queue" even when you're building development projects (energy, science, culture, food), so it's easy to "insert" an item quickly for end-game cities
  • New build items will always insert in front of those development projects
  • Adding a different development project will replace the current end-of-queue development project

Yea too much time is spent in the city screen.

Tedious.
