pc version civilization 2 without multiplayer.

I am dumb and I like to create a game which limits technologies. I only want medieval stuff and everyone starts with settlers. How do I do that? thank you.

I also like everyone starts from scrap tech and need to reserach for better swords and stuff

Classic stuff is only something that John Valdez would be familiar with. He hasn't been around for a while but you can try e-mailing him (one of the two mod names at the top).

A better suggestion is that you first upgrade to FW by going to the downloads section at the main civfan site. Then you can make a scenario instead of fiddling with the default civ files.
